I have a weird relationship with things that I leave behind. I'm not sure how to send myself off. I'm not sure how to commemorate the occasion when I know that I'm seeing something for the last time.

I blame planes for this. They don't give you the right amount of transition time. It's too weird to live a certain way in a certain somewhere your whole life and then be here in seventeen hours. Then it's too weird to know that, after everything, in that same amount of time you'll be back. Mathis Field to Charles de Gaulle. Charles de Gaulle to Mathis Field.
